M. Sigalla
Dr. Marianna Sigala is an Associate Professor of "Service Management in Tourism' at the University of the Aegean. Before joining the University of the Aegean, she had been lecturing at the Universities of Strathclyde, Westminster and Surrey in the UK. She has professional experience from the hospitality industry in Greece, while she has also contributed to several international research and consultancy projects in hospitality and tourism as well as in socio-economic development, e.g. Tempus-Phare, EAR-European Commission funded projects.
Her major research interests and publications are in service operations management and ICT applications management in tourism and hospitality. Her work has been published in several international journals and conferences, and she is has published fours books. She currently serves on the editorial board of twenty three international journals. Dr Sigala is currently the co-editor of the international journal "Managing Service Quality" and the editor of the International Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Cases. Dr Sigala is also the Chair of the ICHRIE Johnson & Wales Case Study Competition & Publication Series.
Dr Sigala has also served on the Board of Directors of: IFITT (Membership Director); I-CHRIE (Research Director); HeAIS (Publicity Director); and EuroCHRIE (President).
